Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2020 Verified Purchase Last year Mary Class (Jenny McCarthy) made her mark as "the daughter who saved Christmas". But that did not come without a price. Now Santa Claus (Paul Sorvino) has a load of free time on his hands, and is interested in a whole lot of activities that have nothing to do with Christmas. Now Mary has to take over the workshop once again until she can get her dad -- Santa -- to stop fooling around and get back to work. But this could not have happened at a worse time. Mary's business has grown a lot in the past year, and it's proving harder than ever to balance workshop duties with tasks related to her business. And as if that weren't enough, a disgruntled elf in disguise (Kelly Stables) is causing dissension among the elves. Plus Mary's relationship with Luke Jessup (Dylan McDermott) is strained by the simple fact that Mary loves New York, while Luke seems happier in Polaris. Actually if I were able, I'd of given this movie three and a half stars. The original was better, to be sure. But this sequel was not bad. The original seemed far more magical, while this one turned up the comedy a couple of extra notches. Personally, while I feel there is plenty to enjoy with Paul Sorvino's Santa Claus and Dean McDermott's Luke Jessup...at the same time I believe George Wendt's Santa Claus and Ivan Sergei's Luke Jessup had a lot more chemistry with Jenny McCarthy's Mary Class. On the other hand, Lynne Griffin returns as Mrs. Claus. One thing that has not changed is Santa's elves are still hilariously clueless, and a lot of fun. Jenny McCarthy does a great job as Santa Claus' daughter and Dean McDermott does a great job as her husband. I love the atmosphere portrayed in the "north pole", with the decorations and the elves and all of the activity. Santa wants to travel with his newly formed band, he's tired, so his daughter, a successful business woman, tries to incorporate new ideas which end up in disaster. Not to worry though, everything always works out at Christmas. I watch both Santa Baby and Santa Baby 2 every year. ... I had a good time seeing it but found 'Santa Baby 2' not as good as the 1st one, though. maybe that's why it's not been put on sale in Europe to date.
Anyway, it's a lovely christmas story with someone trying to steal christmas and push Mary Claus out of deal. there are many elves and cookies, views of snowed countrysides and other christmas stuffs! What's more, everybody is turning nice before the end!
